Standing Up for Our Neighbors

Eric believes the moral test of a community is how we treat those who need us most — our children, our seniors, and our neighbors facing challenges they didn't choose. That belief isn't abstract for Eric. He and his family live it — through service on nonprofit boards, sponsoring a food pantry for South Bay families, and establishing a scholarship fund for Los Angeles County students pursuing careers in public service. As a young man, he spent summers working alongside farmworkers in apple warehouses, an experience that taught him that the people who work the hardest are often the furthest from a fair starting line.

The Challenge

Right now, too many of our neighbors face obstacles that have nothing to do with their character or effort. California's diversity has always been our strength — but that strength depends on our commitment to protecting every person's freedom, dignity, and access to opportunity. When federal overreach threatens the rights and protections Californians have built, we need state leaders who will stand firm — not with rhetoric, but with action.

How Eric will Lead

As State Senator, Eric will work to ensure California remains a place where every person is treated with dignity and respect. With his experience bringing diverse communities together, Eric will work to:

  • Protect the privacy and personal freedoms of every Californian — including the right to make your own health care decisions without government interference.

  • Ensure every person can live, work, and raise a family free from discrimination and harassment — because no one should fear being who they are.

  • Defend California's laws and protections from federal overreach — standing firm when Washington tries to roll back the rights our state has established.

  • Protect our immigrant neighbors and DREAMers — ensuring access to state services and safety for families who are part of the fabric of our communities.

  • Stand up for our seniors — protecting Medicare, Social Security, and access to affordable prescription drugs for the people who built our communities.

  • Support community-based organizations that already have deep roots and trust in the neighborhoods they serve, ensuring resources reach those who need them most.

  • Remove regulatory obstacles that prevent people from accessing the services and opportunities they need to thrive.
