Every Californian Deserves a Fair Start
"As a competitive runner, I know that fairness comes from everyone beginning at the same starting line. But as a youth coach, I know the best teams aren't built by creating division or picking sides — they're built by uniting people around shared goals, finding common ground, and ensuring each person can succeed. We don’t need more rhetoric. California needs leaders with proven track records of removing obstacles, building consensus, and delivering real results for families. That's the leadership I'll bring to the State Senate."
– Eric Alegria, Democrat for State Senate District 24

Removing Obstacles. Creating Opportunities.
Removing Obstacles. Creating Opportunities.
“Hard work used to be enough. You'd put in the hours, play by the rules, and get ahead. But for too many families, that's not how it works anymore. Costs keep rising, good jobs are harder to find and staying in the community you love feels like a luxury.
"I've lived it. I kept my own small business running through the pandemic. We adapted when the rules changed overnight and made payroll when nothing was certain. That experience shaped how I led on the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council. We cut the business license tax to zero and kept it there for three years. We balanced our budget while delivering real relief. When the Portuguese Bend Landslide struck, I took action to declare an emergency and secure resources to protect hundreds of families.
“I believe that when times get hard, government should remove obstacles, not add to them. My approach: bring people together — no matter your party — focus on what actually works and deliver results. That's how we'll tackle the cost of living, the insurance crisis, school funding, and job creation.”

Results, Not Rhetoric
Eric doesn't do politics as usual. He's led businesses, nonprofits, and communities — and in every role, he brings people together and gets things done.
On City Council: For his first years, Eric was the only Democrat — and they got things done anyway. He took action to declare an emergency to help families devastated by landslides, made Rancho Palos Verdes the 4th safest city in California, and reduced taxes while maintaining a balanced budget.
As a School Board Member: He champions student safety, mental health support, and smart investments in aging facilities, working with teachers, parents, and staff to find solutions.
As an Educator: He's mentored students as an instructor at USC and El Camino College, preparing the next generation to lead.
As a Health Care Executive: Eric has spent 18+ years making sure healthcare reaches the people who need it most —running operations for nonprofits, clinics, and community health organizations.
As a Small Business Owner: He knows what small business owners face because he's lived it — making payroll, navigating regulations, and keeping his West LA business running for over a decade. He put that experience to work, cutting business taxes in Rancho Palos Verdes to zero and helping local businesses survive the pandemic.
Eric doesn't believe in Sacramento telling our communities what to do. He believes in listening to the people closest to the problems — and working together to solve them
